We have been working Guildford Borough Council to support town centre businesses to put new safety measures in place. As restrictions on retail and leisure businesses are lifted, we are following government guidance and putting measures in place to create a reassuring environment for visitors to the town. This includes using some parking bays to enable us to widen footpaths, dedicated external queueing systems and longer road closures in key areas.

We ask everyone visiting the town to please:

  • Observe social distancing rules staying 2m apart from others where possible
  • Follow the direction of our new signs as you make your way around town
  • Use contactless card payment where you can
  • Wash your hands as often as possible
  • Use hand sanitiser when available
  • Keep your shopping, dining or drinking group within maximum numbers advised by government
  • Take time to plan your visit and familiarise yourself with the new processes that may be in place within the town centre and individual businesses

Be cautious. Be calm. Be kind.
