Knees up, knees up… this is your final call to get signed up for some of the events and activities that are taking place throughout the town for Healthy Guildford Day so you can be on your way to a healthier you!
Taking place on Friday 26th April, Healthy Guildford Day is a collaboration between Guildford Borough Council and Experience Guildford in support of ‘On Your Feet Britain’, a national campaign that aims to encourage people to #SitLess and #MoveMore by participating in a variety of fun and simple activities.
There’s plenty going on throughout the town to make you feel a whole heap healthier, and a few of these need to be pre-booked in advance.
So, here’s our round-up to get you started…

Not sure which form of exercise is right for you? Well, Turnfit on Bridge Street has your back covered. They’re offering taster sessions of some of their most popular classes, all designed to help improve your strength and stamina, along with your agility and stability. Choose the one that takes your fancy, then register on their website and email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your space. Hurry mind, spaces are limited for each session.
Yoga in the castle grounds
Combining yoga with strength to give you the ultimate blend of stretching and flexibility.
Blitz up your fitness riverside by the Yvonne Arnaud
A blend of great strength training tied in with high-intensity interval training to kick up your heart rate and get burning those calories.
Pedal up the pace at the TurnFit Studio
Ride, race, turn legs and burn calories in a bid to build strength and cardio fitness. Whatever your age, fitness level or skill, you can make this bike workout your own!
Unit 3a, 14 – 22 Market St
Sculpt, tone and improve your flexibility with a free taster session from Paola’s BodyBarre. Choose from the Signature session which promises to tighten muscles, strengthen your core and improve your posture, or the Sculpt session for a more mat and full body workout.
Signature sessions run from 11am to 11.50am and 1.30pm to 2.20pm. The Sculpt session runs from 12.15 to 1.05pm. All sessions are held at their studio on Market Street, above Sweat Betty.

The Bellerby Studio & G Live Café
BusyLizzy Guildford will be running a coffee morning featuring a speaker from women’s health and wellbeing specialists, Luna Hive, followed by a complimentary taster session of their popular Mummy & Me Bootcamp.
Taking place at the G Live Café, the coffee morning runs from 10.30am to 12pm, with the taster class scheduled for 11am to 11.45am in the Bellerby Studio.

Take some of the puff out of pedalling and book your free trial on one of Guildford’s electric bikes. Perfect if you’re thinking of getting back in the saddle after a leave of absence, these bikes will have you ascending our glorious Surrey Hills in no time!

If you’re looking to try something a little different, then why not head over to the Experience Guildford offices where Gong & Tonic will be bringing a little Himalayan harmony to the proceedings. They’ll be introducing participants to ‘Sonic Cuddles’, Himalayan Bowl Sessions that use the vibrational patterns created through the sound of crystal bowls, gongs and drums to produce a feeling of pure relaxation, mindfulness and pain relief.
Sessions last 30 minutes each, starting a 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm. You can also grab yourself a drop in body massage in between the bowl sessions.

First Floor Tunsgate Quarter
Fill your lunch break with fun (and a bit of fitness), and get yourself booked onto one of the free lunchtime express taster classes from Fitness Space. There are two classes up for grabs, both limited to just 12 people per session, so don’t miss out on your chance to have a go.
Hit the exercise bikes on a studio cycle session from 12.30pm to 1pm with Connect Bike.
Or, jab and undercut your way to a leaner you with a Sweatbox session from 1.15pm to 1.45pm.
Perfect for those of you who find it tricky to fit exercise into your busy schedule, these taster classes will demonstrate just what can be achieved in 30 minutes.

Integrative wellbeing therapist, Ati Balding, aka @surreyhillswellness, will be running two separate mini sensory journey sessions that can be joined on either an individual or joint basis.

Ati Balding of Surrey Hills Wellness will also be offering a group sensory session at Surrey Hills Coffee in Jeffries Passage. Starting at 5pm, the session will run for 20 minutes and will feature guided meditation using all the senses to support relaxation and stress release. Refreshments after the session will be provided by Surrey Hills Coffee.
