Sarah Slater, Hampton Court Tour Guide
We are kicking off our new talk programme, ‘Window on the World’, with a Halloween-inspired talk.
Sarah Slater is an Institute of Tourist Guiding qualified white badge Guide Lecturer and costumed Tour Guide at Hampton Court Palace and has worked at Hampton Court Palace as a State Apartment Warder, Tour Guide and Guide Lecturer for twelve years.
Get ready for Halloween with this fascinating hour-long talk about Sarah’s experiences working with the ghosts at Hampton Court Palace. Feel what it is like to wander the galleries late at night, alone in the dark, the history, stories and sightings of ghosts over the years.
We hope to have a limited face-to-face audience in the Institute (with appropriate social distancing measures in place). We do ask that you wear a face mask whilst in the building.
This will be subject to any changes as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Window on the World – What is this?
We have really missed our Wednesday talks and have been working hard to bring them back in some capacity, while taking into account safety measures and staff restrictions. Our new Window on the World talks will continue to explore a wide range of topics on various weekday afternoons, offering greater flexibility for attendees.
This first talk in the autumn term will be followed by more in the spring. To support the Institute during this unprecedented time, tickets for our Window on the World talks will be £5.00.
Members will continue to receive priority booking.
