ACM is a leading provider of Creative Industries Education offering Degrees and Diplomas which are taught from campuses in Guildford, London and Birmingham alongside online delivery. Throughout 2020 the Creative Industries have evolved at an exponential rate and ACM was proud to deliver its award-winning education throughout the various lockdowns through many different technology platforms. Schools have experienced a huge variety of challenges throughout the pandemic, and as part of ACM’s commitment to supporting the next generation of talent and giving back to the community, ACM wanted to alleviate the pressure on schools and parents who are feeling the strain of home schooling and online delivery.

The ACM After School Club is designed for students aged 14 and up with an interest in music and/or video games. The sessions are designed to keep students engaged, and provide an extra curricular learning opportunity alongside some well needed respite for parents who are currently juggling childcare with working from home.

Every Tuesday at 16:30 there will be a FREE Music lesson about singing, songwriting, producing beats, rapping, music theory and more. The first Music session will be 23rd February 2021 at 16:30 and will be all about Producing Beats from your Bedroom with fantastic tutor and music producer Shea Stedford.

Every Thursday at 16:30 there will be a FREE Game Development lesson about careers in gaming, art, design, audio for games and much more. The first Game Development session will be with ACM tutor David McGreene Thursday 25th February on the different Careers available in Gaming.

Everybody is invited to get involved regardless of their experience level. Those joining the Digital Workshops need only bring themselves and a willingness to learn some incredible new skills.

The sessions will consist of a 30 minute workshop where a practical skill can be learnt. The equipment needed to take part will be minimal and is designed for students that might not have access to instruments etc.

Tutors will be on hand via the chat function to answer questions live during every session and all participants are encouraged to share their creations after the session using the hashtag #ACMClub on social media.

To tune in, visit acm.ac.uk/afterschool every Tuesday and Thursday.
