Eliza & The Bear at The Boileroom

“We’re making music that makes us happy” explains singer James Kellegher .“We write songs that we enjoy singing and playing. It’s the sort of pop music we like listening to.” Eliza & The Bear are back with a revitalised sound, fresh new single ‘Real Friends’ and second full length album to be released later in 2018. They later confirmed the name was in fact taken from a collection of poems by Eleanor Rees that had inspired them.

A sold-out UK arena tour with Paramore followed, along with main stage appearances at the Reading & Leeds Festivals, Boardmasters, V Festival and Zane Lowe making ‘It Gets Cold’ his ‘Hottest Record In The World’ on his BBC Radio 1 show. Th... read more

The talk will be illustrated with pictures, readings and carols (so bring your voice)!

G Live - Sandi Toksvig Live! National Trevor

Wednesday 16 January and Wednesday 23 January 2019 Sandi Toksvig is bringing her brand new, one-woman comedy show to Guildford. Sandi thinks that being called a National Treasure is a bit embarrassing and she has decided instead to become a National Trevor – half misprint, half Danish comedian, novelist, actor and broadcaster. Expect tall stories, fascinatingly funny facts, really silly jokes and some terrible baking from the host of Great British Bake Off, QI and Fifteen to One. Don’t expect tap-dancing, needlework or headstands. In the quickfire Q&A you can ask Sandi whatever you want – but please don’t ask her bra size (she doesn’t know). Book early!
