15th June - 1st July 2017 - Racks Close, off Quarry Street

The 1960s are drawing to a close and the euphoria of the Summer of Love has cast its spell on the youth of the city. Seeking to escape the harsh laws of society, four young lovers find themselves lost in a mystical wood populated by warring fairies, mischievous sprites and an earnest group of amateur actors, one of whom seems to have grown a donkey’s head…yes, Shakespeare's most magical and best loved comedy kicks off our Summer Season.

In the heart of Guildford, we invite you to join us on an adventure into the town’s best kept secret; Racks Close. This wooded wilderness located behind the Castle, with multi-level grass banks and meandering paths will be the perfect setting for a magical night to remember. Director, Lotte Wakeham, currently Associate Director with the RSC’s West End smash hit Matilda, makes her GSC debut.

The Bar and Box Office will be open 45 mins before the start time for you to collect tickets and to purchase refreshments. The venue will open for picnicking at 6.15pm for evening performances and 1.15pm for matinees.
